About This Course

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the key concepts in molecular biology. Topics to be covered include nucleic acid structure and function, DNA replication, transcription, translation, chromosome structure, and remodeling and regulation of gene expression in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Extended topics to be covered include method in recombinant DNA technology, microarrays, and microRNA.

Credits:

3 credit hours; This 15 week course requires students to spend approximately 8 hours a week on course work.
